Mid-day break: You indulge in too much Rockband

For those of you who’s smoking Xbox 360s are not enough, you can now play with your own Rockband-themed smoke machine, and even an explosive light show. Are you a regular Rockband party-thrower, but don’t have the luxury of some sweet ambient stage lighting and smoke effects? Well now you can with the Rockband Stage Light and Smoke Machine from Harmonix… with this you will indulge yourself way too much into pretending to be a real rocker and forget (even more) that life exists outside of your basement. How great!
What has the world come to that we need to materialize outside of our virtual world. We now have objects such as game chairs, surround sound, steering wheels, joysticks with throttles, and a myriad of crap. These are all extremely elite, but the line has to be drawn right now. A smoke machine and lighting effects are too much for the enjoyment of a (semi) competitive video game. Wouldn’t the smoke blur the sight of the television and the on-screen tabs of the guitar?
Don’t get us wrong, we love Guitar Hero and Rockband, and we regularly sit in front of our TV sets wishing we were the next Aerosmith (okay, maybe not). This expensive set is just over that line we were talking about, especially at a list price of $99.99. Go out and buy a cool game… one that lets you decapitate stuff. Do that, and you may be redeemed if you thought about buying this for your makeshift Rockband Stage.
If you do buy this though, I hope you have a good reason. The reasons we can think of is if you…
- got it for free
- created the thing
- have a really, really cute kid
- are under 14
- or got it for free
In complete honesty, and trying not to be rude about this, you’re completely dumb if you spend an actual $100 on this item. Save up your allowance, or your paycheck for a real toy, like a guitar you can play for more than 12 feet from your console (e.g. a real one, with strings). Even better, throw it out from your window, or donate it to us. At least something more worthy…
