Resident Evil, a series that made zombies and creepy corner-dwelling creatures popular and gamers scream with terror has always been tailored to the more adult crowd that strives to see blood and guts. Capcom, the developer of the Resident Evil titles know that the gross moments of the game are a necessity to its unique experience. Whether its a face-eating demented dog, or some abomination, Capcom says it will never ease up on the nasty stuff. Especially not just so the younger crowd can be allowed to play their games.
We’re never going to create a gore-free Resident Evil title to try and get a lower rating as it’s a game about the horror experience and gore is part of that. ~ Rhys Cash, Capcom UK’s research and planning manager.
Sounds like a great stance. Its nice to know that some developers aren’t all about the candy-coating of their games. I like to see more adult games make it rather than see a game lose out simply to get more teens or younger gamers. Capcom is also roaring to get out its latest Resident Evil 5 title with as much gore as possible. Good thing they don’t care about less gore, because this game looks fantastic. Take a look at the trailer:
The game will be coming to all major platforms; the release date, however, is uncertain. The official web site is at ResidentEvil.com, and our source comes from MCVUK.com.
