Games such as Halo 2, and World of Warcraft, and that popular YouTube series Lonlygirl15 have all come up with creative marketing called Alternate Reality Games, or ARGs. All were fun and gave gamers a lot of hype. Gears of War 2 may now be on that list, after releasing a new concept art on its official web site that shows cryptic-like numbers (even though they’ve been decoded already) on cog tags possibly linking it to its release date.
The numbers on the cog tag: 033-116-117-126-071 read in ASCII octal values, translate to ESC-N-O-V-9. Hopefully this might mean that we see the game on November 9th. Or something else might happen, who knows. This comes from 1Up.com.
