We’re excited to tell you that we were right, once again, with the Xbox 360 price cutting. It is now official that Microsoft will be updating its odd SKU pricing points, changing things around and making it a little more confusing for people just to buy a damned Xbox 360. We’re going to help you out…
- Xbox 360 Arcade: $279.99; No hard drive, but includes 256Mb memory card
- Xbox 360 Premium: $299.99; 20Gb hard drive, same as before, new price.
- Xbox 360 Premium Plus(?): $349.99; New 60Gb hard drive and HDMI port
- Xbox 360 Elite: $449.99; 120Gb hard drive and HDMI port, and its black.
Reading all of the recent news of the price drop and addition of yet another SKU price point got us confused and scratching the pea-brains we have. So hopefully we cleared things up. We’re not exactly sure how the 60Gb fits in as far as naming, so we’ve called it the Premium Plus setup for now.
The new 60Gb SKU is set to arrive in August. Whereas the Arcade SKU will likely be phased out completely; after all, who would be willing to buy a unit with no hard drive for only $20 less? Not me. Hard drive all the way. Coming from Joystiq.
