You’re not satisfied with just any graphics card, you need the best. Playing games in uber sweet definition with awesome frame rates is a thing of current nature gamers: “best graphics” is synonymous with todays PC gamers. AMD announced today that is has created the fastest graphics card ever with the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. Even better, they claim that they are the closest yet to “eye-definition” (sounds fun!) graphical computing. Does this mean we’ll be able to stop worrying about the jaggies (visible pixles)?
Eye-definition sounds like the next fad in technology, though I hope not because it sounds awesome. The AMD graphics card is capable of a nice 2.4 teraFLOPS at 750Mhz, which blasts the nearest competitor, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280, in reviewed testing and benchmarks. You can get all of the juicy technical details and jargon at HotHardware.com.
AMD seems really excited about this $549 graphics card, and they should be. It is an enthusiasts product, and they have created the fastest graphics card so far. Kudos to them. Take a look at their colorful press release at AMD.com. Or, go buy it and finally play Crysis at those ludicrus resolutions you’ve been dreaming about for ages.
Do you think we’ll be able to reach this so-called “eye-definition?” Will jaggies be a thing of the past? Maybe, leave a comment and let us know what you think!

I’m sure the end result is amazing, but I’m still loathe to spend $600 on a graphics card. Maybe I’ll wait a few months and see what people are saying about it.
Yeah, graphics cards move too quickly for me to justify spending that much money on one. I mean it seems every couple of months there is the “fastest card” to buy, and its almost like that expensive monthly bill just for blazing graphics.
If I had the money laying around, maybe. But I don’t hah.
