I had the privilege of sitting through this fine James Bond movie this weekend. Quantum of Solace is by far one of the best James Bond movies to date, having all of the features of the past movies with some interesting plot points and non-stop explosive action. I was in my seat, trying to figure out the mystery that had unfolded early in the movie, while the action kept me watching in awe.

As with any action movie, you don’t expect there to be too many dull points, which there weren’t many. The times when a dull moment did arise in the movie, Bond’s charisma and fantastic male-whoring abilities took place and set things forward. The mystery gets unraveled slowly but the times when a new fact is mentioned, it is mainly up to the viewer to hopefully figure things out. While with any action movie you aren’t truly expected to follow the plot to the point, but in this Bond movie you will get lost if you aren’t quick on the trigger to understand what is going on as action moves forward fast.

The movie didn’t waste any time with unnecessary scenes or overdramatic action. Bond gets straight into things, and you watch him doing this. The movie establishes Bond as the master of British infiltration and intelligence agent very clearly - in one scene early in the movie we get to see how quickly he is on his feet and how good he is at figuring things out. Watching the 007-agent do his work, without wasting any time or getting hung up on useless characters is the best feature of the movie in comparison to others.

Another thing the movie does exceptionally well was that the action sequences weren’t exaggerated or unbelievable. Some of the past James Bond movies had some unrealistic characteristics about them, but this movie seems to be on the money with a human being’s capabilities and not over-dramatizing action. The CGI in the movie, if any to be honest, must have been very well done and not overused. The movie was very realistic. A lot of movies have trouble keeping the CG effects under control, but I applaud Quantum of Solace for not being too greedy, and having real action in their action movie.

The only area I can see that the movie lacked was that, while there was a sweet car scene, we never really saw the car much; and James Bond is supposed to have advanced gadgets, but none of them were used in this movie. I can’t say this had a major impact on my enjoying the movie, but it would have been nice to see a little more of this.

All of the James Bond movies focus on the agent infiltrating organizations and his ability (job?) to kill anyone in his way. The Quantum of Solace shows Bonds abilities the best out of most of the other titles in existance. I urge any action or Bond movie fan to see this movie right now. You’ll get the best experience seeing this movie in a theater. You can check out the official movie site at 007.com. Also, if you were a fan of the movie you might want to check out the video game as well!

I enjoyed this movie even though I saw it at midnight yesterday. Granted, it was a bit long but the action never stopped. The only thing I could complain about was the lack of girls. There were about two in the movie and from my point of view, they weren’t exceptionally attractive.

I agree, though I don’t think they took away from the movie at all. The action was amazing.
