Atari told us that their Ghostbusters: The Video Game would come out just in time for the movie’s 25th Anniversary celebration on June 16th. Ghostbusters is a fantastic movie from our time; the game, however, looks “just okay.”
Headed up by Atari, the game will feature the voices of the movie’s favorites such as Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson, and will have you pit up against some wild ghosts that are terrorizing New York City. First ghost of mention is the extremely large and hilarious Sta-Puft marshmallow man. You’ll use your proton-pack weapons along with the other Ghostbusting characters; shoot them, wrangle them, and then trap the ghosts to take care of the problem.
The game boasts highly destructible environments and large scale boss fights. You can find the game on just about every platform available: PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, Windows PC, Wii and Nintendo DS. So if you really want the game, you’ll probably have the right system to play it on. And of course, the trailer definitely hypes up the game, it looks great!
Ghostbusters: The Video Game will however have to be played once it comes out; I can’t tell if it will truly hold up its fun factor the more you play the game. I can say that it is easy for me to think that the game will have repetitive gameplay and get boring after a while. But, I don’t know, we’ll have to see when the game comes out, June 16 of this year. Hey, we’ve even got screenshots!
