The new mission of WhatsLeet.com will be to focus not only on gadgets and entertainment, but also include innovative and amazing things in general. Anything goes if it is new and exciting. This will give me more room to listen to a more broad area of topics and have more to talk about and communicate. I hope this is a good direction to go in, and I feel that the more area I can cover, the better my content will be.

I’m excited for the phone, but I’m a little upset that, as consumers, we have to worry about which cell carrier gets the latest phones, and if the deal is exclusive people committed to contracts could never be able to get a phone they really want. Its bad business in my opinion. But, rest assured Sprint has been committed to its network and improving it with good technology making it one of the fastest wireless Internet providers around. You won’t be stuck onto AT&T with their poor networking capabilities and iPhone congestion.

Warner Brothers, the owners of the Batman series, have come out and said, “It’s not true. There is no script. There is no project to be cast in.” Such a rumor-busting comment appeared on People.com first, in an attempt to manage the big stir that occurred on the Internet last night.

You all wanted her to be Catwoman, but I’m sorry she won’t be. Consensus from various sources seem to be mixed as to how people would react to the story being true and the movie had come out with Megan Fox as the Catwoman. Some say that she would kill the roll because she is talentless, but others believe she could do it well (while wanking to the screen). I for one, do believe that Halle Berry played a wonderful Catwoman, and Megan Fox as a replacement would be a big step down. They are nicely-sized shoes to fill and Megan would not fill them properly.

If you want to see Megan she is starring in Jennifer’s Body, which is set to come out September 18, a movie about a possessed cheerleader who begins killing off her classmates.

Again, as of now, and until more credible information shows up from Warner Brothers or a similar source, this rumor is false. Megan Fox will not be playing Catwoman in the next Batman.

Today there are many models of the Gibson Les Paul guitar, but they all have the same characteristics – a single formed body, no sound box chamber, and it relies on electronic equipment to create audible sounds. It was the first of its kind when it was built in 1952.

The Gibson Les Paul created sounds that no one had ever heard before and musicians were quick to follow in its path, creating a new genre that incorporated such unique sounds as fretting, chording and doing trills, all electronically. • Full Game Downloads: You’ll be able to purchase full games, and download them straight on to your Xbox’s HDD. It will play just like it would from the CD, and you’ll even be able to re-download games as much as you need if you need to delete one to make room for another.
• Netflix Dashboard Queing: Remember the old way of selecting your movies from your computer? No longer will you have to shift your ass to your computer to pull up movies. Just go into the Netflix part of the Xbox Dashboard and you’ll be able to browse the movie selector and choose your movies right there – no more need to shift around to your computer.
• Netflix Movie Party: Have a bunch of friends with Netflix? You can all get together and watch a movie as if you were sitting in the living room with them. Truly digital socializing.
• Avatar Props: You’ll now be able to look around for props for your avatar. You want your mini-you holding a cellphone? You got it! Along with this comes a new marketplace for your avatar where you’ll be able to purchase new clothing and props. New apparel will include branded items as well, so you can really get your avatar to look like yourself.
• Some other fixes and updates you’ll have to explore to find. Everything you can download will now have a rating system to give feedback; friend invites are a little bit easier.

Again this all comes out today and your Xbox Live will begin updating when you log in. You’ll be able to access the game and avatar marketplace online at Xbox.com on August 13.

That didn’t end it. Palm has gone back to release yet another patch for their Pre with WebOS v1.1, once again re-enabling the phone to connect to iTunes, regardless of the patch that Apple had released to block the phone out. How will this affect Apple? Well, they can do one of two things:

1. Be perpetually bitchy about letting other devices connect to their software and causing a lot of problems to consumers who do choose to use Apple’s software, but want alternative hardware. Since the Pre isn’t even on the same wireless mobile network as the iPhone, in the United States, I don’t see how it affects Apple at all.
2. Let the Pre harness from the iTunes user base. Seriously, it won’t hurt. The more Apple pushes, the easier it will be for legal issues to ensue and customers to get hurt in the long run. If people want to use iTunes with their Palm Pre, let them!

I hope Apple chooses to end the fight by not taking notice of Palm’s actions. iTunes, on one hand, gets to enjoy a whopping share of the music market, and on top of that, in a business sense, doesn’t allowing other devices to connect to iTunes in-turn allow for increased sales of music? Don’t be stupid, Apple. Make everyone happy, and your customers will be happy, too.

We’re taking it easy this week to celebrate (party) the United States’ 228th Independence Day on July 4th. I realized how great our country is, despite its recession and downfalls, and how fantastic the people here really are (when they try). We take for granted the vast amount of freedoms that we have, and how far worse some other countries are. We take for granted these freedoms and you won’t truly know what you have until its gone. I am capable of writing this blog with no limitation, no censorship (fuck that!). It is a pleasure.

So go out and have a fantastic 4th of July, celebrate your freedoms and have fun. If you live on the East Coast, I hear that Macy’s is planning one of the largest fireworks display ever on the Hudson River, in order to celebrate Independence, and the 400th anniversary of the exploration done by Henry Hudson. The show will feature 40,000 shells exploding at a rate of more than 1,500 per minute — ridiculous amounts of pyrotechnics. The show starts at 9:20pm on July 4th.

It is being reported that Michael suffered a heart attack in his home in California, was hospitalized, and confirmed by the Associated Press that the pop singer had indeed passed just before the evening.

His soul will be remembered in the heart of music forever, among many others who have passed before him. Rest in peace, King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Some things you can do for Earth Day 2009:

1. Turn off the lights, open the shades. There is plenty of sunlight
2. Turn off, and unplug things you don’t use. Even leaving appliances you use rarely plugged in uses some energy. While fractional, its still wasteful to leave them plugged in.
3. Turn down the thermometer, wear a jacket if its cold inside. You have blankets too, I’m sure.
4. Reuse your bottles, and cups. If you are still on plastic water bottles, fill them up again with tap water. You can do this a few times, but plastic leaks chemicals after a while, so don’t reuse them too much.
5. Plant a tree. They consumer Co2 and produce Oxygen, how great does that sound? Its free air and less of the bad stuff.

Receiving good reviews from gamers so far, who rate the game in the 8.5-9.0 range out of 10, is a breathe of fresh air for the publisher considering the previous game didn’t fare as well. However, this game’s release may be slightly pinched as the economy is on crutches and Atari isn’t exactly what it used to be. Certainly low marketing efforts may keep this game from selling out, if it ever had any intention to do so (we don’t think so).

Critics, on the other hand, have been reviewing the game harshly, giving an average score of about 8.2. We think reviewers may be comparing the game to the previous Riddick game in terms of gameplay, and while similar, Dark Athena has much more features. Multiplayer is the biggest new feature introduced, along with an overhauled graphics engine that looks superb in comparison.

Purchase this game at your own leisure, we can’t be too sure how the storyline and multiplayer will play out for average gamers. If you are a fan of the series, definitely purchase this title. Otherwise, casual gamers should be directed to the demo currently available before they make a commitment to purchase the game.

Sony is apparently in the midst of preparing some “big” announcement in the next 24 hours on the global scale. A mother of speculation, and a shroud of dust is forming around the blogosphere as people try to debunk exactly what Sony is going to announce. Truth be told, no one has a flipping clue. We’ve got some ideas and how likely each one is.

1. Price Drop (Likelihood, yeah right…): Not a chance. Sony has already stated that they don’t plan on dropping the price, and they don’t have to. They are looking for their console, the Playstation 3, to be the sort of machine that endures in the long run. And, I’ll say the plan is working considering the slew of competition (Xbox 360s) that have been breaking down since the day they came out. Sony will retain their price for a while yet. Don’t worry folks… sadly.
2. Netflix (Likelihood, very good!): Somehow Microsoft got to be the first with the Netflix deal, and has paid off because Netflix is now focusing on more streaming movie service. It would be completely appropriate for Sony to announce a similar partnership with Netflix. What makes this deal even better is the fact that Sony is a major motion picture producer — all of Sony movies are unviewable on the Xbox 360 for obvious reasons. These movies would expectedly be released for streaming on the PS3. This could be it.
3. Firmware Update (Likelihood, sure…): While firmware updates are great, for the amount of hype the announcement has brought up we don’t think that Sony would startle the whole gaming community just for some firmware. And no, they won’t make the PS3 play HD-DVDs as some speculators believe — wheres the damn point in that? Exactly what a firmware update would include, we’re not sure. Perhaps Sony needs to start charging for their online services? Who knows.
4. Game Announcement (Likelihood, globally who cares?): The idea of a global game announcement sounds stupid. Like a firmware update, reasons mentioned above, why would Sony waste time announcing a game? Globally,  nonetheless. This is just silly.
5. PS2 Price Cut (Likelihood, maybe, probably not): Well this isn’t as exciting, but several sources from Joystiq and Kotaku have pointed out that a price cut could be announced for the Playstation 2. Nice. However, for the same reason that the PS3 won’t be cut, I thought that Sony had regional pricing… not global? Why would a PS2 price drop be global if its a regional thing? I don’t know, so I’ll say its not that likely. If it is, who really cares, the PS2 needs to die off already.

As fanboys try and figure it out, we’ll be waiting until tomorrow to hear official word from Sony themselves. We’re betting on a firmware update and/or Netflix availability. See you tomorrow!

Update: Sony has already chimed in with some rumor management, thanks to Joystiq, by issuing a statement saying that “we do not have plans for a PS3 price drop, and any rumors to that effect are false and are the result of speculation.” As we said, let it go folks.

We’ve been having a chill time writing about all sorts of video games, movies, and gadgets, but today we take a day to practice Awesomeness.

Today, March 10, is the International Day of Awesomeness. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the event all day long by doing something awesome by yourself or with a group of friends.

Help someone out in an awesome way, make something freaking sweet out of paper towels and chap stick — who knows. Anything can be awesome and you can have a fun time taking part in this international “holiday.”

While the Day of Awesomeness isn’t widely known it was started in 2007 and there is already an official web site about it. Go check it out and be sure to let us know about what you did that was really awesome. We’ll update this later!
